A New Chapter for Cronos Protection: Our New Website and Bespoke Screening & Vetting Platform

Cronos Protection Limited continues to invest in our people, our technology and the standards behind the security services we provide.

We are pleased to announce two important developments for Cronos Protection Limited.

Firstly, our revamped company website is now live, giving our clients, prospective clients, security professionals and visitors a much better insight into who we are, what we do and the services we provide.

But while the new website is the part of our development that people can see, there has also been a significant amount of work taking place behind the scenes.

We have developed and introduced our own bespoke screening and vetting platform for our security personnel.

For us, this is a major development.

It represents another step forward in how we manage our internal processes and, more importantly, how we ensure that the people representing Cronos Protection are properly screened and vetted before being deployed to our clients.

Security starts before an officer arrives on site

As a professional manned security company, we understand the level of trust our clients place in us.

When a Cronos Protection security officer walks onto a client's site, they are not simply representing themselves.

They are representing Cronos Protection.

Our clients trust us with their people, their property, their businesses and, in many cases, their reputation.

That means our responsibility starts long before an officer puts on their uniform and arrives at a client's premises.

It starts with recruitment, it continues with screening and vetting, it continues through training, compliance, management and supervision and it continues throughout an officer's time with Cronos Protection. For us, professional security starts with the people we employ.

Introducing our bespoke screening and vetting platform

As Cronos Protection has grown, so has the need for robust internal systems that can grow with us.

We wanted to develop a dedicated platform that would allow us to manage our security personnel screening and vetting process more effectively and provide greater visibility and accountability throughout the process.

Rather than simply purchasing an off-the-shelf system and adapting our processes around it, we decided to take a different approach.

We developed a bespoke screening and vetting platform specifically for Cronos Protection.

The platform has been developed around our requirements, our processes and the way our team operates.

It is designed to support the screening of our security personnel and the management of the documentation and information required as part of our screening and compliance procedures.

It is another example of Cronos Protection investing in technology to strengthen the business behind the security services we provide.

12 years of screening and vetting experience

Behind the technology is something that technology itself cannot replace: experience.

Our Screening & Compliance Manager, Darren Arnold, has 12 years of experience in screening and vetting.

Darren brings a significant level of knowledge and experience to an area of the security industry where accuracy, consistency and attention to detail are extremely important.

He has also been part of Cronos Protection from the very beginning.

When Cronos Protection started trading on 26th July 2022, Darren was there.

Since then, he has been part of our journey and has seen the business develop from a new security company into the organisation we are today.

That combination of 12 years of screening and vetting experience and more than four years with Cronos Protection gives Darren an in-depth understanding of both the screening process and our own internal standards.

Giving Darren the tools to do the job properly

The introduction of our new platform is not about replacing experience with technology.

It is about giving our experienced Screening & Compliance Manager better tools to do his job.

The platform provides Darren with a dedicated system designed around our screening and vetting requirements.

It allows us to have greater visibility over the progress of screening files, the information being collected and the documentation associated with each individual.

It also helps us maintain a more structured and consistent approach to our internal screening processes.

For Darren, it means having a platform built around the way he actually works.

For Cronos Protection, it means greater oversight.

And for our clients, it provides another layer of confidence in the processes we have behind our security personnel.

Working in accordance with BS 7858

Screening and vetting is a fundamental part of working within the security industry.

BS 7858 provides recommendations for the screening of individuals working in a secure environment, where the security and safety of people, goods, services, data or property are important. Our bespoke platform has been developed to support our in-house screening and vetting process and the management of our personnel screening in accordance with the requirements of BS 7858.

For us, this is not simply about ticking boxes.

Effective screening is about making sure we have the right information available, that the appropriate checks and documentation are completed, and that there is a clear and accountable process behind the people we deploy.

We believe that is exactly how it should be.

Why having screening and vetting in-house matters

There is a significant difference between simply outsourcing a process and taking ownership of it within your own business.

By having a dedicated in-house Screening & Compliance Manager, we have someone whose responsibility is focused on this important area of our operation.

Darren understands our business, he understands our standards, he understands our requirements and he understands the importance of making sure our screening procedures are properly managed. Having our own bespoke platform gives him the infrastructure to support that responsibility. It also means that as Cronos Protection continues to grow, our screening and compliance systems can develop alongside us.

The development of the platform has been a collaborative project.

The concept, requirements and development direction were led by Paul Beales, with assistance from The Epitome Group - www.theepitome.co.uk

The aim was to create something that genuinely reflected the way Cronos Protection operates.

The Epitome Group assisted us in turning our requirements into a bespoke digital platform, rather than forcing our processes into a generic system.

That has allowed us to develop something specifically around our needs.

We looked at what information needs to be collected.

We looked at how screening files need to be managed.

We looked at what our Screening & Compliance Manager needs to see.

We looked at how we can improve accountability.

And we looked at how the system can continue to develop as the company grows.

The result is a platform that has been developed specifically for Cronos Protection Limited.

Technology supporting our people

As a manned security company, people will always be at the heart of what we do.

Our security officers are the people who protect sites, manage access, conduct patrols, support events and respond when incidents occur.

Technology does not replace that human element.

Instead, we believe technology should support our people and strengthen the systems around them.

Our screening and vetting platform is a good example.

It does not replace Darren's experience.

It gives him better tools.

It does not replace professional judgement.

It provides better visibility and organisation to support that judgement.

And it does not replace our responsibility for properly screening our security personnel.

It helps us manage that responsibility more effectively.

Our revamped Cronos Protection website

Alongside the development of our screening and vetting platform, we have also completely revamped our Cronos Protection website.

Our website is often the first place a potential client will encounter our business.

It needs to accurately reflect who we are.

As Cronos Protection has developed, our old website no longer represented the full range of services, capabilities and developments within the company.

The new website gives us a much better platform to showcase our services, including:

It also provides a clearer picture of our approach to security and the standards we expect from ourselves and our people.

But the new website is more than a redesign.

It represents where Cronos Protection is today and gives us a platform from which we can continue to grow.

Investing in the business behind the uniform

When people look at a security company, they naturally see the security officer.

They see the uniform, they see the person on the gate, they see the officer patrolling a site, they see the security team working at an event. But there is a huge amount of work that happens behind that uniform.

Recruitment.

Screening.

Vetting.

Client communication.
